This week, I began seriously coding my first website and, gasp, I didn't have to run to someone every two seconds because I'd propelled the website to its death in a fiery ball of janky code. I'm also working on a side website for a friend and I managed to fix some problems I'd been having and get the site to near finish. I felt confident and suave. I even went so far as to proclaim myself "awesome" on facebook. Then, get this, I had a friend that in college I'd always gone to for CSS help ask lil' ol' me to teach him Joomla.
Well gosh, I was so flattered.
And then I realized I knew nothing. What I know about Joomla amounts to a hill o' beans compared to what there is to know. Hence that janky Superfish menu I'm still struggling with for the website I began coding this week. It could pass as acceptable, if the client is blind and deaf so she wouldn't be able to hear people laugh about the condition of her menu.
One day, Joomla. One day I will grasp your workings and then I will own you. /unnecessarily dramatic mini monologue.
