We have a lot of clients that have or want to start company blogs. Is it worth taking the time to blog? Take a look for yourself and see if it's a fit for your company:
Blogging Pros:
You validate yourself and your company as being a professional in the field. Becoming a resource for your client not only gives them something to reference, but also gives your clients a sense of realiability.
- Consistency. If you're going to start a blog on your site, make sure you are updating it regularly. Regularly is different for everyone. Whatever it means to you, make sure you commit to it. If you know blogging on a daily basis is not going to happen, don't commit to it, cause people start to look forward to it. Find something that works for you and stick with it.
- Content. Create blogs based on the most asked questions clients are asking. Keeping content relevant, recent and rich will help drive search engines to your site, helping with organic SEO.
- Resource. Become a resource for your industry.
- Call-to-Actions. Create a call-to-action within every blog. No matter what the topic of your blog is, there should always be a way to get the reader to your site, or if already on the site, through your site.
- Forums. Find forums in your industry and post simple comments that lead them to your blog, which should lead them to your website.
